My name’s Holly and I’m a food-loving Brooklynite—but Vermonter at heart—with lots of food projects to document.

I’m lucky to live in a food mecca of DIY’ers, farm-to-table restaurants, farmers’ markets, and the gamut of tastes – pastrami and pickles to kombucha and salty dark chocolate.  In other words: old meets new.

In the spring of 2011, not long after starting this blog project, I moved from my beloved Williamsburg to Clinton Hill. I’m continuing to uncover the food secrets of my new neighborhood while missing my old favorites.

I work near Union Square so Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays have become foraging escapades at the Greenmarket. At the very least I can be found picking up greens for that night’s dinner, and often, beans, apples, flowers, cheeses, and then some.

I’ve been cooking up a storm lately and wanted to share my adventures. That’s me in the photo above at a food market in Male last year, capital of the Maldives. Same market below. Bottom, the Union Square Greenmarket.
